The Shatrunjaya Hills are located in the holy city of Palitana in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. It is a very popular pilgrimage place for the followers of Jainism and other religions as well. With more than 900 Jain temples, the temple complex is the largest in the world. It is one of the most popular and sacred pilgrimage spots in India. As per Jain theology, the first tirthankara, Rishabha Dev climbed this hill around 99 times to attain Nirvana. The main temple is dedicated to him, which is the holiest shrine for the Shwetambar sect in Jainism.

Bus : State Government buses are available from Bhavnagar on a regular basis and tickets are inexpensive. There are daily buses from places such as Ahmadabad, Diu, Una and Talaja. Government buses are generally not comfortable and can be crowded. Most buses are not well maintained as well.
Train : Palitana has a small railway station that is connected to the town of Bhavnagar. The better option is to take a train to the town of Sihor which has good connectivity to places such as Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad. Sihor is located nearby and you can reach the town of Palitana easily from the station.
Air : The closest airport is located at Bhavnagar, which is around 51 km from the town of Palitana. The airport is connected by regular flights to places such as Delhi and Mumbai and this is the most suitable option for those who are arriving by air. Taxis are available from the airport and they charge around Rs 500 for the short trip which takes around one hour.
